Role:
Dr. Ferber's Animal Hospital in Pembroke Pines, FL is looking for a passionate and skilled Veterinary Technician to join our dedicated team! This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of animals and their owners every single day. Responsibilities:
Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and medical procedures Collect and process laboratory samples including blood draws, urinalysis, and cytology Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian Monitor and care for patients pre- and post-operatively Perform and assist with diagnostic imaging including X-rays and ultrasounds Maintain accurate patient medical records using veterinary practice management software Educate and communicate with pet owners regarding treatment plans and home care Ensure exam rooms, surgical suites, and equipment are clean and properly sterilized
Requirements:
Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) or Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) preferred Previous experience in a veterinary clinic or animal hospital setting Proficiency in venipuncture, IV catheter placement, and anesthesia monitoring Strong knowledge of animal handling and restraint techniques for various species Excellent communication and client education skills Ability to remain calm and compassionate in high-stress or emergency situations Familiarity with veterinary practice management software is a plus
