Job Description

Veterinarian Bayview Animal Hospital - St. Pete Job Overview Bayview Animal Hospital is a privately owned small-animal practice in St. Petersburg focused on high-quality medicine, strong team culture, and sustainable schedules. Our doctors value the ability to practice freely, collaborate when needed, and go home on time. Support staff are engaged and respected, and we maintain a fun, professional work environment. We're seeking a culture-fit DVM who wants to build long-term relationships with both clients and team members. Culture Our team culture is one of the biggest reasons people stay. Support staff consistently share that they feel heard, valued, and involved in how the hospital runs. We maintain a professional environment without workplace drama. For doctors, this means you're walking into a team that communicates directly, supports each other, and focuses on patient care rather than internal tension. Autonomy in Medicine We trust our veterinarians to practice medicine. Freedom to work up cases appropriately Collaborative discussion available when wanted No production-only pressure or micromanagement Emphasis on high-standard, thorough care You'll have the ability to practice in a way that aligns with your training and clinical judgment while still being part of a collaborative team. Real Schedule Control and Work-Life Balance We structure schedules with sustainability in mind.
Our doctors value:
Finishing on time Control over case flow and daily pace Realistic appointment scheduling Protected personal time We believe longevity in this field requires boundaries, and we actively try to support that. Strong Support Staff and Technician Utilization Our technicians and assistants are engaged, capable, and encouraged to use their skills. Their input is respected, and they play an active role in patient care and hospital operations. Doctors aren't expected to function without support, and support staff aren't treated as interchangeable. Privately Owned and Present Leadership Bayview is locally owned, and leadership works inside the hospital. Decisions are made quickly and thoughtfully, and feedback from the team actually shapes how we grow. We're building a hospital for the long term, not operating on a revolving-door model. Who Thrives Here Veterinarians who do well at Bayview tend to value: A collaborative, low-ego team Clear expectations and accountability Practicing thorough, quality medicine A stable, respectful workplace Work-life balance that's actually achievable We're looking first and foremost for culture fit. Experience matters, but how someone works within a team matters more. We want doctors who are kind, reliable, communicative, and committed to practicing good medicine in a supportive environment. Experience FL licensed or eligible for licensure applicants only Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited institution is required Ability to practice small-animal general medicine independently Experience with diagnostic workups and case management Routine soft tissue surgery and routine dentistry Collaborative approach with support staff If you're looking for a practice that's privately owned, intentionally run, and focused on longevity in the field, we look forward to hearing from you!
