Job Description

About the opportunity: We are an established walk-in veterinary clinic in Sarasota, FL, and we're growing. Due to strong community demand, we are expanding our hours to include urgent care coverage on Friday evenings, Saturdays, and Sundays. You'll be stepping into a fully operational clinic with experienced staff, established systems, and a loyal client base already in place — no building from scratch required.
Support structure:
You will never work alone. Every shift is backed by two seasoned veterinarians available on call for consultation, guidance, and surgical support. If a surgical case arises, the choice is yours — step in yourself or call in one of our on-call vets. You'll also work alongside a skilled team of veterinary technicians and assistants. Whether you're a newer graduate looking for mentorship or an experienced veterinarian who values strong team support, this role is built with you in mind.
Schedule:
Friday & Saturday:
4:00 PM - 11:00 PM;
Sunday:
11:00 AM - 11:00 PM What you'll be doing Triaging and treating urgent care patients (dogs & cats primarily; exotics welcome based on comfort level) Performing diagnostics, treatments, and minor procedures in a fast-paced urgent care environment Using your clinical judgment to manage surgical cases — perform surgery yourself or call in on-call support based on your comfort level and the patient's needs Communicating clearly and compassionately with pet owners during stressful situations Collaborating with a dedicated support team of technicians, assistants, and on-call veterinarians What we're looking for Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or VMD) degree from an accredited institution Active Florida veterinary license (or eligibility to obtain one) Comfort working in an urgent/after-hours care setting Strong clinical judgment and ability to work with urgency and composure Surgical experience a plus but not required — on-call veterinarians are available to assist or step in when needed All experience levels encouraged to apply — new graduates welcome Compensation $175+ ProSal (production-based salary), negotiable based on experience and skill set.
