West Villages Animal Clinic is located in a rapidly growing master planned community called Wellen Park/West Villages which is between Venice and North Port, FL. The clinic opened in May 2020 and is privately owned and operated. West Villages Animal Clinic provide routine wellness care, dentistry, internal medicine and soft tissue surgery for dogs and cats. Our demographic area consists mostly of retirees who treat their pets like family members. We are very fortunate to be able to provide high quality medicine, as most of our clients value and pursue diagnostic testing. We cherish the relationship, trust, and friendship we have developed with our clients. Our priority is to always provide respect, courtesy and patience with all clients and their pets. We have a knowledgeable and compassionate team that currently consists of four technicians with over thirty years of combined experience, two assistants, and two client services representatives. Our positive work environment allows our team to thrive, laugh, and support one another each day. Our clinic is in a newly built shopping center with a lot of foot traffic. It includes three exam rooms, a full surgical suite for soft tissue procedures with a brand new vessel ligating device, cloud-based paperless EzyVet software, digital radiographs with radiologist interpretation, dental radiographs, ultrasound, TonoVet Plus, pharmacy, laboratory with Abaxis CBC, Chemistry, and Sedivue machines. We do not offer boarding or grooming. We are 20 minutes away from the beautiful Gulf of Mexico and five minutes from the Mayaka River. We are open weekdays from 8:00 am - 5:00pm. Appointments are twenty to thirty minutes long and not currently scheduled between 12:00 - 1:30 pm. After-hours emergencies are referred to one of three emergency hospitals less than 25 miles away. What You'll Be Working On Build and maintain client relationships Diagnose, treat and manage a variety of small animal cases Perform surgery and dentistry (this is not a requirement, as our owner loves surgery) Provide education to clients and staff on healthcare plans Maintain a positive work environment Strong communication and interpersonal skills Guide, utilize and mentor All-Star support staff Qualifications Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from an accredited program is required Be licensed or able to be licensed in the state of Florida Experience with surgery and dentistry, optional Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills What's In It For You Salary or Pro-Sal Compensation Option Generous Paid time off Flexible schedule (FT or PT hours) no weekends! 4 day work week if FT.
