Job Description

Join a growing, privately owned veterinary practice in Cumming, GA, as an Associate Veterinarian.
Job Description:
An exciting opportunity has opened up with a privately owned, forward-thinking small animal practice in Georgia that has built a strong local reputation for compassionate care, clinical quality, and an intentionally low-stress client and patient experience. Established in 2011, this hospital was designed around a simple idea: veterinary care should feel calm, welcoming, and modern rather than clinical or overwhelming. That philosophy still shapes the way the team works today, from Fear-Free handling to longer consultation times and a genuine focus on quality over quantity. The practice is already well equipped and continues to evolve. The current hospital includes four exam rooms, including dog and cat-specific spaces, alongside digital radiography, digital dental X-ray, ultrasound, an in-house laboratory, a dedicated surgical suite, cryotherapy equipment, and AI-supported medical record workflows. There are also exciting expansion plans already underway, with a brand-new 4,100 sq ft facility planned for 2027 that will further increase clinical capacity, improve team workspace, and create an even better environment for patients and staff alike. The pride themselves on a calm, carefully designed environment with features such as a cat-only room, a large dog room, and a grooming suite. You'll be joining a close-knit and efficient team, supported by a team of long-tenured and experienced support staff. With a strong support-staff-to-DVM ratio, this is a hospital where doctors are genuinely set up to focus on medicine, not firefighting. The clinic's collaborative culture would suit someone who enjoys having good clinical support, strong communication, and the freedom to practice at a high standard. The role itself offers a well-paced GP caseload with a strong emphasis on internal medicine, preventative care, and dentistry. Appointments are thoughtfully scheduled with a minimum of 30 minutes, there is a protected two-hour midday break for catch-up and lunch, and same-day urgent cases are built into the day without derailing the schedule. There is also flexibility around surgery for someone who enjoys it, with 1 to 1.5 days per week available, or more if desired. Referral for more advanced cases is actively encouraged, helping maintain a sustainable and sensible caseload. This could suit a veterinarian who is already comfortable in GP and wants a more supported, less chaotic environment, but it could also appeal to someone looking for future progression. For the right person, there is scope to grow into a more senior or Medical Director-style position over time. On offer is a base salary of $140,000-$170,000+ depending on experience, with realistic total compensation in the $160K-$185K+ range and flexible compensation structures available.
