Introduction A well-established 24/7 emergency and specialty hospital in Meridian, Idaho is seeking an Emergency Veterinarian to join its collaborative five-doctor team. The hospital is known for providing high-acuity emergency care and specialty referral services while maintaining a supportive and team-oriented clinical environment. This opportunity is ideal for veterinarians with emergency experience who are passionate about practicing high-quality medicine in a fast-paced setting with access to advanced resources and collaborative support. Working Hours / Rota The hospital operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, providing continuous emergency and critical care services to the community. Emergency veterinarians work across structured rotating shifts designed to ensure consistent patient coverage while supporting a sustainable workload for the clinical team. Role Description and Responsibilities The Emergency Veterinarian will manage urgent and critical cases, including triage, diagnostics, stabilization, and treatment planning for a wide range of emergency presentations. Responsibilities include developing treatment plans, maintaining accurate medical records, communicating clearly with clients, and collaborating closely with specialists, technicians, and referral partners to deliver high-quality patient care. The role also involves supporting hospitalized patients overnight or on weekends and contributing to a collaborative clinical environment that encourages learning and professional development. Practice Details This emergency and specialty referral hospital focuses on emergency medicine, critical care, and advanced referral services. The practice maintains a strong culture of collaboration and medical excellence while supporting veterinarians with access to a broader professional network and educational resources. Team The hospital currently operates with a five-veterinarian team supported by skilled emergency technicians and support staff who work collaboratively to deliver high-quality emergency and specialty care.
