SmartVet is the only animal hospital in the Bloomington and Normal, IL, area that can come to your home! Our unique mobile veterinary service brings comprehensive pet care directly to your doorstep. Additionally, you can visit our state-of-the-art animal hospital in Normal for all your pet's health needs . Whether you prefer at-home veterinary care or our fully equipped hospital, our veterinarians provide the latest in pet health care, including wellness care, vaccines, dental care, and surgery. We also offer digital X-rays, in-house laboratory services, and ultrasound diagnostic care. All of our veterinarians are certified Fear Free and certified Cat-Friendly practitioners.
Position Purpose:
SmartVet, located in Normal, Illinois, is seeking an experienced and compassionate Managing DVM to lead our dedicated team and help shape the future of our hybrid mobile and hospital-based veterinary practice serving the Bloomington-Normal area. SmartVet is the only animal hospital in the region that can come to your home. Since opening in 2011, we've combined the convenience of mobile veterinary care with the advanced capabilities of our state-of-the-art animal hospital in Normal. Our veterinarians provide comprehensive pet health services including wellness care, vaccines, surgery, dental care, digital X-rays, ultrasound, and in-house laboratory diagnostics. We also offer chiropractic and laser therapy services to support therapeutic care. Our entire team is Fear Free Certified and Cat-Friendly Certified, ensuring that every patient experiences the least stress possible during their visit. As the Managing DVM , you will lead and mentor a talented group of veterinarians and support staff, oversee medical operations, and uphold the highest standards of patient care. Essential Responsibilities:
Examine and treat companion animals to detect and determine the nature of disease or injuries. Operate diagnostic equipment and collect diagnostic samples as well as interpret results. Advise pet owners on preventative care and treatment options. Perform surgery and prescribe medication as needed. Provide counsel around pet end of life care. Maintain patients' medical records. Ensures compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant statues, policies, and procedures.
Requirements/Qualifications:
DVM/VMD degree from an accredited AVMA institution. Appropriate state licensure. Eligibility to obtain
DEA/BNDD.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrates professional and courteous presentation consistently with staff and clients. Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance.

Pay Range:
USD $115,000.00 - USD $130,000.00 /Yr.
