Job Summary Join our dynamic veterinary team as a Veterinarian Receptionist, where your energetic and welcoming attitude will set the tone for exceptional pet care experiences. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for clients and their beloved animals, ensuring smooth appointment scheduling, accurate medical record management, and efficient communication between clients and veterinary staff. Responsibilities Greet clients and their pets warmly, providing outstanding customer service and addressing inquiries promptly. Schedule appointments accurately while managing the clinic's calendar to optimize workflow. Collect and process payments related to veterinary services, including medical collections, with attention to detail. Maintain comprehensive and organized medical records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with veterinary terminology standards. Assist veterinary staff by coordinating patient flow, preparing paperwork, and managing client communications. Support kennel operations by handling pet check-ins and check-outs, ensuring animals are comfortable and well-cared for during their visit. Facilitate animal husbandry tasks such as feeding, cleaning, and basic grooming to support overall pet care efforts. Handle phone calls professionally, providing information about services like pet grooming or dog training when appropriate. Assist with laboratory procedures or sample collection as needed, following aseptic techniques for animal catheterization or other critical care tasks. Maintain a clean, organized reception area while adhering to safety protocols related to animal restraint and handling. Qualifications Previous experience in veterinary reception or customer service within a pet care environment is preferred. Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, and restraint techniques is highly desirable. Familiarity with medical collection procedures and laboratory experience enhances your ability to support clinical operations. Experience with kennel management, pet grooming, dog handling, or equine experience is a plus. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in record keeping and appointment scheduling. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients, team members, and external vendors. Ability to handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques while demonstrating compassion and patience. Basic proficiency in veterinary software systems or laboratory tools is advantageous.
