Job Description

Job Summary TLC Veterinary Hospital is looking for a compassionate and motivated Veterinarian to join our growing team! We are a small animal practice , primarily working with dogs and cats , and we take pride in providing high-quality, practical, and caring medicine to our community. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to build strong relationships with clients while providing comprehensive medical care , including wellness exams, diagnostics, treatment plans, and preventative care. Our goal is to create a supportive environment where both pets and their owners feel comfortable, informed, and genuinely cared for. Whether you're an experienced doctor or a newer graduate looking to grow, you'll be supported by a skilled team and a collaborative workflow. Duties Perform thorough physical exams to assess health, diagnose conditions, and develop appropriate treatment plans Clearly communicate findings and treatment options to clients, ensuring they feel informed and supported Perform routine surgeries including spays, neuters, mass removals and dental procedures Interpret diagnostic results including bloodwork, radiographs, and in-house lab testing Administer vaccinations, medications, and treatments tailored to each patient's needs Perform and oversee medical procedures such as animal restraint, catheter placement, and maintaining aseptic technique Manage and treat common medical conditions in dogs and cats, as well as provide follow-up care Support and triage urgent or emergency cases, providing initial stabilization when needed Maintain accurate and detailed medical records and ensure compliance with veterinary standards of care Educate pet owners on preventative care, nutrition, parasite control, and long-term health management Work closely with technicians and support staff to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality patient care Handle patients with care and confidence, minimizing stress and promoting a positive experience Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed Requirements DVM/VMD licensed in Massachusetts Strong foundation in small animal medicine, including anatomy, physiology, and clinical diagnostics (dogs and cats) Experience in general practice, including exams, treatment planning, and routine procedures (surgery and dentistry required) Proficiency in animal handling and restraint with a calm, low-stress approach Knowledge of laboratory procedures, aseptic technique, and basic emergency/urgent care stabilization Ability to confidently perform common clinical skills such as catheter placement and medical treatments Strong communication skills with the ability to educate clients clearly and compassionately Team-oriented mindset with a positive, collaborative attitude Interest in building long-term client relationships and practicing high-quality, practical medicine Organized, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining accurate medical records Dedication to continued learning and staying current with veterinary advancements Commitment to providing compassionate care and maintaining a high standard of animal welfare

$85.00 - $96.00 per hour
