Job Description

Associate Veterinarian Androscoggin Animal Hospital - Topsham, ME If you're looking for a place where people genuinely like working together (and it shows), where your voice actually matters, and where lunch breaks aren't just a theoretical concept—we should talk. Androscoggin Animal Hospital is an AAHA-accredited, multi-doctor practice that's been caring for the pets of Southern Maine since 1985. We take our medicine seriously, but not ourselves. Our team is packed with experienced technicians and support staff who know their stuff, have your back, and make even the busiest days feel manageable (and occasionally, even fun). We're growing and open to just about everything: full-time, part-time, or relief—and veterinarians at any stage of their career. New grad? You'll have support. Seasoned DVM? You'll have autonomy and a team that keeps up.
Why You'll Like It Here AAHA-accredited :
We hold ourselves to a higher standard—over 900 of them, actually—and it shows in how we practice medicine every day. A team that sticks around : We're proud of our long-tenured staff. When people stay for years (and even decades), it says something. Strong support staff : Our experienced technicians and assistants keep things flowing so you can focus on patient care—not juggling everything at once. No overnights, no on-call : Because being well-rested makes you a better doctor (and human).
Half-day Saturdays :
Shared rotation so your weekends still feel like weekends. Real breaks built into the day : Whether you're catching up on notes, grabbing a bite, or getting some fresh air, we make space for it. Genuinely positive culture : Collaborative, supportive, and low on ego. High on teamwork. What We're Looking For We're open-minded here. Whether you love dogs and cats, have a passion for exotics, or are curious to learn something new—we're into it. The common thread? Someone who cares about practicing good medicine, communicating well with clients, and being a solid teammate. Life in Topsham Topsham sits along the Androscoggin River and offers that ideal mix of outdoorsy charm and convenience. You're minutes from Brunswick and Freeport (yes, that L.L. Bean), with easy access to hiking, kayaking, skiing, and some seriously good seafood. Want a bigger adventure? Boston, the White Mountains, and even Montreal are all within reach. At the end of the day, we're a practice that believes great medicine and a great work environment should go hand in hand. Our team sticks around because they want to—and we think that says everything. Benefits Medical, dental, and vision insurance options (effective the first of the month following start date) 401(k) (eligible after 6 months of employment) Reimbursement for license renewal
