Job Description

Job Overview Belmont Animal Hospital is a privately owned (far from corporate), full service, compassionate, client-focused veterinary clinic dedicated to providing high-quality care for small animals (cats and dogs). We are seeking a skilled and dedicated veterinarian to join our growing team. The ideal candidate is passionate about animal health, committed to excellent client communication, and eager to contribute to a positive workplace culture. Duties Conduct thorough examinations of animals to assess health status and diagnose medical conditions using veterinary terminology and knowledge of animal physiology and anatomy. Perform medical procedures (e.g., spay/neuter, soft tissue surgery, and dentals) using aseptic techniques to ensure safe and effective treatment. Prescribe and administer medications, anesthesia, vaccinations, and treatments tailored to each pet's needs, ensuring proper animal care. Assist with laboratory testing, interpret results to make a diagnosis, and develop treatment plans with appropriate spectrum-of-care options for clients. Educate pet owners on preventative care, nutrition, and treatment options. Maintain accurate and through medical records. Collaborate with veterinary technicians and support staff to ensure efficient clinic operations. Stay up to date with advancements in veterinary medicine and best practices. Qualifications Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or equivalent) from an accredited institution. Active and unrestricted veterinary license in North Carolina. Strong diagnostic, surgical, and clinical skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Commitment to compassionate, ethical animal care. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Preferred Qualifications Opportunity is best suited for enthusiastic, hard working clinician who values autonomy and desire to practice high-level medicine. 1-3+ years of clinical experience is preferred, although mentorship available for the right new graduate. Experience with electronic medical record systems (Shepherd utilized for paperless record keeping.)
