Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Veterinarian to join our team. This role involves providing compassionate animal care, performing surgical procedures efficiently, and ensuring the highest standards of veterinary medicine. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in veterinary critical care, animal handling, and surgical techniques, with a passion for improving community pet health through high-volume sterilization efforts. Responsibilities Perform spay and neuter surgeries with precision and efficiency while maintaining patient safety and comfort Conduct pre-operative assessments and post-operative care for animals undergoing surgery Utilize proper animal restraint techniques to ensure safety for both animals and staff during procedures Maintain sterile aseptic techniques throughout all surgical processes Handle animals of various sizes, including dogs, cats, and other small animals, ensuring humane treatment at all times Administer anesthesia, monitor vital signs, and manage pain control during surgeries Record detailed medical histories, surgical notes, and post-operative instructions accurately in medical records Assist with laboratory procedures as needed, including sample collection and analysis Educate pet owners on post-surgical care and responsible pet ownership practices Adhere to all safety protocols, including infection control and laboratory safety standards Skills Veterinary critical care experience is highly desirable for managing intraoperative emergencies and postoperative recovery Strong animal restraint skills across a variety of species and sizes Extensive veterinary experience with a focus on small animal surgery and anesthesia Proficiency in animal handling, including dog handling and pet grooming techniques when necessary Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, anatomy, and husbandry practices Ability to perform animal catheterization and manage aseptic techniques effectively Laboratory experience related to diagnostic testing or sample processing is beneficial Familiarity with pet care education to communicate effectively with pet owners about post-surgical care requirements Experience working with animals requiring specialized handling such as equine or other large animals is a plus but not mandatory This position offers an opportunity to make a significant impact on community health through high-volume sterilization efforts while working within a supportive team environment dedicated to animal welfare.
