Associate Veterinarian Veterinary Reno, Nevada Direct-Hire Aug 15, 2024
Title:
Associate Veterinarian We are looking for a full-time veterinarian to join our team in a close-knit private practice. The ideal candidate will have a DVM and an active license to practice in the state of Nevada, as well as experience providing medical care for animals, diagnosing and treating illnesses, consulting with clients about their pets' health, maintaining patient records, and performing surgeries and related procedures as needed.
Scope:
Determines the nature of disease or injury by examining pets; examining animals. Restores health by treating animals surgically or medically. Prevents rabies, brucellosis, and other disorders by testing animals and providing inoculations. Promotes health of animals by advising animal owners about sanitation measures, feeding, and general care. Documents actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and animal records; reporting diseases to public health officials. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations. Enhances veterinary clinic reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Skills/Qualifications:
Knowledge of Animal Behavior, Basic Safety, Documentation Skills, Customer Service, Performing Diagnostic Procedures, Use of Medical Technology, Integrity, Verbal Communication, Surgery and Dental a plus.
Requirements:
Educational Background:
A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree from an accredited institution is required. State Veterinary Board License must be in good standing for the state in which they intend to be hired, prior to their start date. Flexible work schedule, with preferred availability to work some weekends and holidays. Anticipated compensation range for this role is $100,000-$140,000 plus production.
