Associate Veterinarian Atlas Consultancy Group Portland, OR Job Details Full-time $130,000 - $150,000 a year 5 hours ago Benefits Relocation assistance Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Paid time off Vision insurance 401(k) matching Flexible schedule Life insurance Qualifications Teamwork General dentistry Clinic experience Certified Canine Rehabilitation Therapist Relationship management Full Job Description This is a rare part-time opportunity for an Associate Veterinarian to join a high-quality, privately-owned clinic in Portland, OR.
Job Description:
We're partnering with a well-established, privately owned, small-animal hospital in the Portland area that is now looking to welcome an Associate Veterinarian into its team. This is a rare part-time opportunity offering exceptional work-life balance, 40-minute appointment times, advanced dentistry, and a highly engaged client base who value thorough diagnostic workups. For the past year and a half, the practice has been operated solo by the owner-veterinarian after their long-term associate relocated from the region. They are now ready to bring in another doctor to share the caseload and improve balance within the practice. The clinic is situated in a unique pocket of the city, attracting clientele who expect gold-standard care and are willing to pursue high-quality medicine. The hospital provides comprehensive general practice care with an emphasis on advanced dentistry and standard soft-tissue surgery. The owner is happy to continue handling the bulk of dentistry and surgery on their own days, making this ideal for someone who enjoys medicine and diagnostics, or for a newer veterinarian who would benefit from mentorship. However, if surgery is a key interest for you, then you're more than welcome to take as much surgery as you can! Appointments are deliberately scheduled at 40 minutes, ensuring every pet receives a detailed, thoughtful workup rather than rushed visits. You'll be stepping into a culture that prioritizes quality over speed, respects clinical autonomy, and believes in doing things properly. Offer a vast array of flexibility, open to discussing almost everything during the interview process. The practice offers four weeks' paid vacation, plus the option to take unpaid leave if you desire even more time away, a level of flexibility that's rarely seen in the market. This position is part-time (2-2.5 days per week, with optional flexibility up to 3 days), offering excellent earning potential with a $150,000 base for 2.5 days/week on production, or $125/$130,000 straight salary if preferred and a further discussion for 3 days required.
Key Highlights:
40-minute appointments designed for high-quality, in-depth medical workups Part-time schedule: 2-2.5 days per week, with optional flexibility to 3 days (including every-other Saturday half-day) Strong dental focus with advanced dentistry offered; owner willing to take on most dentistry/surgery if preferred Highly educated, engaged clients who expect, and pursue, thorough diagnostic care Four weeks' paid vacation plus additional unpaid time off available for extended breaks Competitive compensation: approximately $150k base for 2.5 days/week (production) or $125k/$130,000 straight salary with no financial target to hit! Supportive solo-doctor environment with organic mentorship available for newer grads About You DVM or equivalent degree that allows you to practice veterinary medicine in the US You hold (or are eligible for) a licensure in Oregon Confident performing comprehensive, detail-oriented medical workups—not just quick/practical exams Comfortable working semi-independently within a small, tight-knit team Able to produce at a reasonably high level, or eager to grow your efficiency and diagnostic skills with support Benefits Incredible flexibility on offer for the new DVM joining the team! Competitive salary on offer based on the hours worked. Four weeks PTO plus option for additional unpaid time off Vision, dental, life, and health insurance coverage Predictable part-time schedule High earning potential for reduced clinical hours Opportunity to work closely with an experienced veterinarian who values mentorship and high standards of care
