Our passion for veterinary wellness and end-of-life care for companion animals inspired us to create a new company with a singular goal: to honor the human-animal bond by bringing peace, dignity, and compassion to pets and their families during one of life's most difficult moments. We offer gentle, in-home euthanasia services to families in the greater Chicago area, giving beloved pets the chance to pass in the comfort of their own homes, surrounded by familiar sights, smells, and the people who love them most. We also recognize the emotional toll this work can take on veterinary professionals. Providing end-of-life care day after day is incredibly meaningful, but it can also be heavy. That's why our mission extends to supporting the wellness of the caregivers who deliver it. Compassion fatigue is real, and we address it with the same care and empathy we offer our clients. Compensation $150,000/year for full-time. Part-time arrangements are available and compensated based on availability. You choose your own days and your own driving zones across the greater Chicago metro. No after-hour requirements. We're open Monday through Sunday. What you can expect from us Environment & ongoing support: Our responsive team handles scheduling, phone triage, financial discussions, most paperwork and appointment prep, and aftercare coordination so you can focus on patient care. Training & growth: Continued training in at-home euthanasia best practices, leadership opportunities as you want them, and a CE allotment.
Medical autonomy:
You choose the drug protocols you feel are best for your patients. We'll share recommendations if you'd like them.
Veterinary wellness:
Every team member is treated with respect and empathy, with regular wellness seminars.
Workload:
3 to 5 in-home appointments per day, depending on your schedule.
Benefits:
Mileage reimbursement, PTO, health insurance, CE and cell phone stipend, state and DEA licensing fees, AVMA PLIT, and local VMA dues. Work one-on-one with families in their homes, guiding them through quality-of-life and end-of-life decisions with compassionate, client-centered care. Take time to understand each family's wants and needs before their pet's final goodbye, and educate them on what to expect throughout. Work directly with the founders to shape our approach to care, operations, and culture; help build referral relationships and represent EverPaw in the community. Maintain timely medical records and DEA documentation in accordance with all state and federal laws. Work independently in the field with full remote support. What you'll need DVM/VMD degree with 1+ years of clinical practice experience Veterinary and DEA license in good standing Comfort with end-of-life care and discussing quality of life and the euthanasia process Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and safely navigate home environments (stairs, pets, etc.) Reliable vehicle and smartphone Empathy, compassion, and excellent communication skills Ready to apply?
