Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Veterinarian to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for animal care and welfare, providing high-quality medical treatment to dogs and cats. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff and pet owners to ensure the best outcomes for our animal patients. Duties Conduct thorough examinations of animals to diagnose health issues and develop treatment plans. Conduct surgeries, including spay/neuter, dental extractions, soft tissue procedures, and emergency surgeries as applicable. Administer and prescribe medications, vaccinations, and other treatments based on current veterinary standards and patient needs. Interpret diagnostic tests (e.g., radiographs, bloodwork, urinalysis) and communicate results to clients effectively. Provide preventive care, including wellness checks and nutritional counseling. Utilize aseptic techniques during procedures to ensure the safety and health of animals. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient. Complete patient records within the practice-specified timeframe and standards. Educate pet owners on proper pet care, including grooming, nutrition, and general husbandry practices. Handle animals safely and effectively, employing appropriate restraint techniques when necessary. Collaborate with veterinary technicians and support staff to provide comprehensive care. Stay updated on advancements in veterinary medicine and participate in continuing education opportunities. Support a positive hospital culture by actively engaging in staff meetings, training sessions, and day-to-day collaboration. Comply with all practice protocols and policies, including OSHA, DEA, and local veterinary board regulations. Actively participate in community outreach events, client education opportunities, and public relations efforts to promote the practice's services, support pet wellness, and contribute to client retention and practice growth. Qualifications Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited veterinary school. Valid veterinary license in the state of Tennessee. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members. Commitment to providing compassionate care to all animals.
