Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinarian to join our veterinary practice. The ideal candidate will possess strong veterinary critical care experience and a deep understanding of animal physiology, anatomy, and behavior. This role offers an opportunity to provide exceptional pet care, perform complex medical procedures, and contribute to the well-being of a diverse range of animals. Candidates should have excellent animal handling skills, proficiency in veterinary terminology, and experience with laboratory techniques and aseptic procedures. Experience with equine care and pet grooming is a plus. The veterinarian will play a vital role in diagnosing, treating, and advising pet owners while maintaining high standards of animal welfare. Duties Conduct thorough examinations and diagnose medical conditions in various animals, including dogs, cats, and equines Perform surgical procedures, including animal catheterization and other invasive treatments Administer vaccinations, medications, and treatments tailored to individual animal needs Provide emergency critical care for hospitalized animals requiring immediate attention Handle animal restraint safely and effectively during examinations or procedures Assist with laboratory testing and interpret results to inform treatment plans Maintain detailed medical records using veterinary terminology and ensure compliance with aseptic techniques Educate pet owners on animal husbandry, nutrition, grooming, and general pet care best practices Manage animal behavior issues related to handling or medical procedures Support pet grooming and basic animal husbandry tasks as needed Collaborate with veterinary technicians and support staff to ensure comprehensive patient care Requirements Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited institution Veterinary license in good standing for the applicable state or region Proven veterinary critical care experience preferred Strong knowledge of animal physiology, anatomy, and veterinary terminology Experience with animal restraint, handling dogs, cats, and horses (equine experience is desirable) Proficiency in laboratory techniques and aseptic procedures Ability to perform pet grooming and animal catheterization accurately and safely Excellent communication skills for client education and team collaboration Ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations involving emergency critical care Knowledge of laboratory testing procedures related to veterinary medicine Commitment to providing compassionate animal care with attention to detail This position offers an engaging environment where your expertise can make a meaningful difference in animals' lives while working alongside a dedicated team of veterinary professionals.
