Job Type:
FullTime Healthier U/EAP Coordinator Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume): Bachelor's degree (foreign equivalent or higher) in Counseling, Health Coaching, or a related field. Three (3) years of full-time counseling and/or advising experience. Experience with program coordination or event planning experience. Proficient with computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite and/or Google Workspace and social media platforms.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in EAP services. ground in areas such as health coaching or wellness programming. Previous experience in teaching wellness classes (such as yoga and meditation). Familiarity with design tools like Canva. Experience in a higher education setting.
Brief Description of Duties:
The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) / Healthier U Coordinator will support the Director of Healthier U/EAP with wellness programs and offer confidential EAP support to employees. This support aims to improve the well-being and productivity of faculty, staff, and the organization. The coordinator should be creative in designing and promoting programs and must work well both independently and with a team. The coordinator will follow New York State EAP guidelines that include assessing, motivating, and referring employees as needed. This role requires strong presentation and public speaking skills. It provides an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the well-being of employees across a large university through both individualized support and comprehensive wellness programs. This position has a flexible schedule, which may include occasional evening or weekend events.
Employee Assistance Program:
Provide initial assessment and referral services to employees seeking EAP support. Maintain confidential documentation and records. Develop and facilitate workshops on topics such as stress management, mental health awareness, and work-life balance. Conduct outreach activities to promote EAP services across campus. Collaborate with NYS Office of Employee Relations for program implementation. Develop and maintain a comprehensive resource file. Attend mandated training as necessary including a 2.5-day mandated NCI training in Albany. Maintain communication with Regional Representative & EAP committee and attend scheduled meetings.
Healthier U Wellness Program:
Coordinate and schedule wellness activities including yoga, chair yoga, meditation, Zumba, and spin classes. Manage relationships with wellness instructors and program providers. Create and implement engaging wellness workshops and initiatives. Design promotional materials and communications for wellness programs. Track program participation and gather feedback for continuous improvement.
General Duties:
Create compelling marketing materials and flyers for both programs. Develop and maintain collaborative relationships across university departments. Identify opportunities for program growth and enhancement. Participate in program evaluation and assessment. Contribute to team meetings and strategic planning. Other duties or projects as assigned as appropriate to rank and departmental mission.
Special Notes:
This is a full-time appointment. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Minimum salary threshold must be met to maintain FLSA exemption. In addition to the employee's base salary, this position is eligible for $4,000 UUP annual location pay, paid biweekly. Evening and weekend work may be required at times.
