Heat Treat Helper

Summary Requires specific knowledge of general heat treat requirements for aluminum, titanium, nickel-based alloys, stainless, and alloy steels. Must be familiar with Heat Treat scheduling to ensure proper sequence for product through heat treating. Must be familiar with the operation, adjustment and routine maintenance of all furnace controllers. Essential Duties and Responsibilities This is not intended as a comprehensive list; it is intended to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities. Incumbent(s) may not be required to perform all duties listed, and may be required to perform additional, position-specific tasks. Under the direction of an operator will batch loads for optimum productivity. Interpret hardness rating utilizing measuring tools and standards. Places work piece into a heating furnace for a specified period of time. Will be responsible for Hardness testing, utilizing specific calibrated hardness testing equipment. Must have understanding and knowledge of company procedures and work instructions. Maintains a safe and organized workstation and follows all company policy, safety and procedures. Will be trained and under guidance will set thermal couple, prepare load per optimal heat distribution of load. Unload furnaces. Responsible for heat treat and process furnace accuracy and uniformity surveys. Ability to move parts on and off pallets. Supervisory Responsibilities This job has no supervisory responsibilities. Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Basic Qualification Minimum six months experience. Comprehensive knowledge of all metal alloys required. This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
