$18.00 / hour Job Description High Point Location 1st shift 8am-5pm Starting pay- $18 Heat Treater Assistant (Entry-Level) The Heat Treater Assistant supports daily heat-treating operations in a manufacturing environment by preparing materials, reviewing production orders, assisting furnace operators, and ensuring products meet quality and safety standards. This entry-level position provides hands-on training in industrial heat-treating processes and equipment operation. Responsibilities Receive, review, and organize work orders and production instructions Verify materials, part quantities, and customer specifications before processing Load and unload metal parts into furnaces, racks, baskets, or quench tanks Assist heat treat operators with hardening, tempering, annealing, and other heat-treating processes Monitor furnace temperatures, cycle times, and cooling procedures Maintain accurate production and processing records Inspect parts for visible defects, damage, or inconsistencies Use basic measuring and testing equipment as trained Move materials using carts, pallet jacks, hoists, or forklifts when certified Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas and equipment Follow all company safety policies, PPE requirements, and quality standards Assist with basic equipment cleaning and preventive maintenance Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred Previous manufacturing or warehouse experience Ability to read and follow work orders and instructions Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods Basic mechanical aptitude preferred Reliable attendance and strong work ethic Skills Developed Industrial furnace operation Heat-treating and metal-processing procedures Quality inspection techniques Material handling and shop safety Production documentation and workflow processes Work Environment Industrial manufacturing facility Exposure to heat, noise, and moving machinery Required use of PPE including safety glasses, gloves, steel-toe boots, and heat-resistant gear
