Job Title:
Heavy Assembler Job Description The Heavy Assembler works in the Element department, assembling pleat packs and manufacturing filter elements by following detailed work instructions and blueprint specifications. This role involves hands-on mechanical work, operating basic tools and equipment, and performing multiple steps in the production process from initial assembly through final packaging and quality checks. The position suits individuals who enjoy fast-paced, team-based manufacturing environments and take pride in producing high-quality, precision components. Responsibilities Assemble pleat packs for filter elements according to specific work instructions and blueprint specifications. Use hand tools to cut excess material from filter elements once the product is completed. Perform seaming by gluing filter components together using an epoxy glue gun and operating an oven to cure and solidify the glue and end caps. Complete minor assembly tasks for additional parts of the element as required. Perform final assembly of products, including installing O-rings, handles, and sealing boxes. Conduct final quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet specification requirements. Package completed products according to established specifications and standards. Work efficiently on an assembly line and in general production to meet daily output and quality goals. Use measuring tools such as tape measures, gauges, height gauges, and calipers to verify dimensions and tolerances when needed. Operate basic production and assembly equipment and follow all safety and operating procedures. Stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds as part of regular production activities. Collaborate with a small team of 4-5 colleagues to complete tasks and maintain a smooth workflow. Follow all safety guidelines, including the proper use of personal protective equipment and adherence to facility rules. Essential Skills Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and comfort working with mechanical components. Experience and ability to use basic hand tools such as box cutters, glue guns, and hammers. Ability to stand on your feet for up to 8 hours per shift. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds on a regular basis. Comfort working in a fast-paced manufacturing or warehouse environment. Ability to perform general assembly, general production, and general labor tasks. Basic ability to work with hand tools and power tools safely and effectively. Capability to follow written work instructions and basic blueprint or specification details. Attention to detail for performing quality checks and ensuring products meet specifications. Additional Skills & Qualifications Blueprint reading experience. Experience working with or operating manufacturing machines. Experience with pleat compactor machines. Experience operating ovens in a production environment. Familiarity with height gauges and calipers for measurement and inspection. Experience with mechanical assembly, wiring, and assembly line production. Ability to use gauges and tape measures accurately. Prior experience in a clean, air-conditioned manufacturing or warehouse environment. Comfort working with packaging tasks and final product preparation. Why Work Here? Work Environment The role is based in a clean, air-conditioned, and quiet manufacturing facility focused on producing filter elements. Employees typically work in teams of 4 or 5, supporting a collaborative and supportive production environment. Shifts include a first shift Monday through Friday and a second shift Monday through Thursday from 3:15 p.m. to 1:45 a.m., with mandated overtime at times that may require working more than 50 hours per week, including some Saturdays. Each shift includes a 30-minute unpaid lunch and two or three paid 15-minute breaks, depending on shift length. The dress code consists of jeans, a t-shirt, and closed-toe shoes. Personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, hearing protection, and a high-visibility vest, is provided and required as part of standard safety practices. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
