Driver License Join a Growing Civil Contractor Where Your Experience Matters Driggers Construction is looking for an experienced Heavy Civil Estimator to join our team in Hamer, South Carolina. This is a strong opportunity for someone who wants to take ownership of the estimating process, work closely with leadership, and play an important role in winning impactful civil construction projects. This position is primarily focused on estimating, with some light project management coordination to help support a smooth transition from awarded work into project startup. What You'll Do:

Prepare takeoffs, pricing, and bid proposals for heavy civil construction projects Review plans, specifications, subcontractor quotes, and vendor pricing Build competitive estimates for sitework, utilities, grading, earthwork, and infrastructure jobs Lead the bid process from initial review through final submission Work with leadership to support bid strategy and project pursuit decisions Coordinate with project management and field teams during project handoff Assist with budget alignment, scope clarification, and early scheduling coordination Communicate with vendors and subcontractors to support pricing and procurement efforts

What We're Looking For:

7-8+ years of heavy civil estimating experience Strong background in civil construction, sitework, grading, earthwork, utilities, or related infrastructure projects Experience with HCSS HeavyBid is required Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and bid documents Strong attention to detail, time management, and estimating accuracy Comfortable working independently while collaborating with operations and leadership Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent hands-on industry experience

Preferred Experience:

DOT or sitework experience preferred Experience with HeavyJob and/or Agtek is a plus, but not required Experience supporting project turnover or early coordination with PM/field teams Familiarity with public works, commercial, industrial, or government civil projects
