Heavy Civil Laborer

Job Description:

Hartzell General Engineering Contractor, Inc. is currently seeking a Full Time - Heavy Civil Laborer to join our team. The job involves various tasks related to grading and underground utility construction projects. This role involves physical labor, operating basic equipment, and ensuring a safe and efficient work environment while adhering to all company policies and safety regulations. Projects consist of both private and public/prevailing work.

Responsibilities:

Assist with excavation, backfilling, and compacting activities as per project specifications. Support the installation of underground utilities and related materials. Handle and transport construction materials and equipment. Operate hand and power tools, including tampers and compactors. Maintain a clean and organized work site. Follow safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment. Assist with traffic control measures as needed. Perform other duties as assigned by the Field Supervisor.

Qualifications:

At least 7 years experience in underground utility construction and grading projects. Physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor in various weather conditions. Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic. Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team. Basic understanding of construction site safety. Prior construction experience is a plus but not required. Willingness to participate in professional development and safety training programs. Valid driver's license, clean driving record and reliable transportation. Must be able to pass a pre employment drug screening.
