Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty equipment, including trucks, construction machinery, and industrial vehicles. Your expertise will ensure that all equipment operates efficiently, safely, and reliably, supporting our operations across various sectors. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with state-of-the-art tools and technology while contributing to the smooth functioning of critical machinery. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, and air brake systems using schematics and technical manuals. Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, brake repairs, and alignment adjustments to maximize equipment lifespan. Fabricate parts and components as needed using welding, soldering, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to meet specific repair requirements. Operate heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers safely and efficiently during maintenance or repair procedures. Troubleshoot electrical systems and perform automotive diagnostics to identify issues with sensors, wiring, or electronic controls. Use schematics and technical documentation to interpret complex mechanical and electrical systems for precise repairs. Maintain detailed service records of repairs performed, parts used, and inspections completed to ensure compliance with safety standards. Must be able to start a job from start to finish independently or with minimal assistance. Skills Proven experience working in a dealership environment or with heavy equipment maintenance. Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, HVAC systems, shocks & struts, and suspension components. Skilled in fabrication techniques including welding and soldering; capable of customizing parts or repairs on-site. Proficient in reading schematics and technical manuals for troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues. Hands-on experience operating heavy machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and other farm or industrial equipment. Familiarity with automotive repair tools including hand tools, power tools, alignment equipment, and diagnostic devices. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during repairs or inspections. Must be able to pass a Non DOT physical. Excellent customer service skills with a focus on clear communication and professionalism when interacting with clients or team members.
