Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty equipment and semis to ensure optimal performance and safety. Your expertise will keep our fleet and machinery operating smoothly, supporting various industries including construction, agriculture, transportation, and industrial operations. Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, brakes, and HVAC systems using schematics and technical manuals. Conduct preventive maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire service, and fluid checks to maximize equipment lifespan. Fabricate custom parts or modifications using welding, soldering, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to meet specific operational needs. Repair and maintain heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, farm machinery, industrial equipment, and tractor-trailers. Use automotive diagnostics tools to troubleshoot electrical systems and mechanical issues efficiently. Perform heavy lifting tasks safely while handling large components or machinery during repairs or assembly. Ensure all work complies with safety standards such as air brake systems and adhere to manufacturer specifications for vehicle maintenance and repair. Skills Proven dealership experience with heavy diesel equipment is highly preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems, and HVAC components. Skilled in reading schematics and technical manuals for complex machinery repairs. Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, and other maintenance tools. Experience operating heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors-trailers, and farm machinery. Ability to perform commercial diagnostics with modern electronic testing devices. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly with team members and clients about repair needs or issues. Capable of heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during repairs or inspections. Knowledge of tire service procedures and alignment techniques to ensure optimal vehicle performance. Familiarity with schematics for electrical wiring diagrams and hydraulic systems is essential for efficient troubleshooting. Strong understanding of safety protocols related to vehicle maintenance including air brake systems and suspension components.
