• Will be mostly a road service technician. Must be able to be on call nights, weekends, and holidays
• Assess, diagnose and repair all types of vehicles (heavy diesel trucks as well as the ability to service light duty vehicles)
• Repairing trucks and trailers in accordance with OEM standards as well light duty vehicles including but not limited to welding, fabrication, brakes, hydraulics, heating/cooling, electrical work, fuel systems, engine, transmission, suspension and emission systems.
• Perform PMs and subsequent repairs as needed
• Inspect vehicles for safety as per DOT guidelines
• Complete minor repairs as wrote up per drivers DVIR report
• Computerized diagnosis of vehicle fault codes.
• Must be able to lift/carry upwards of 50-75 lbs. for short distances, sit, stand, bend, twist, crawl, crouch, push and pull.
• Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency.
• Test drive vehicles
• Test components and systems using diagnostic tools and special service equipment
• Communicate directly with the Service Manager so that customers are informed if any additional services are needed as well as additional time.
• Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures and specifications
• Employees must provide their own safety-approved work boots Qualifications and Skills
• Minimum of 3 years of experience
• Effective communication skills
• Problem solving
• Good knowledge of local, state and federal regulations
• Computerized diagnostic experience
• Must be capable of driving forward and backing up in close spaces at low speeds
• CDL is a plus
