  • $45 an hour 16 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Paid time off Qualifications Diesel mechanics Equipment troubleshooting Technical troubleshooting support Heavy machinery engine diagnostics Full Job Description We are actively searching for an experienced Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic to join a specialized vocational truck repair shop near Milwaukee, WI.
Also work on a variety of niche equipment including cranes, high-rail systems, welders, and grapple saws. This is a hands-on role in a laid-back, collaborative environment where you'll have autonomy, mentorship opportunities, and exposure to diverse repair work—from engine rebuilds to hydraulics and specialty equipment. Requirements 2+ years of hands-on experience diagnosing and repairing heavy trucks, diesel engines, and/or heavy equipment. Mechanics with strong capabilities in diesel engines, diagnostics, electrical, and hydraulic systems will be required. Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills are required. Experience with diagnostic software (CAT ET, Cummins INSITE, JPRO, Tech Tool, etc.). A positive work attitude, willingness to learn, and ability to work both independently and as a team are required. Experience with vocational trucks or specialty equipment is an asset. ASE or OEM certifications Background in hydraulics, electrical, or engine work
Compensation & Benefits Wages:
$30
  • 45/hour (based on experience level) Quarterly efficiency bonus: $1
  • 5/hour based on performance (82
  • 95% efficiency targets) Benefits (after 90 days of employment): Health insurance (50% employer-paid) Simple IRA with 3% match PTO 50% boot allowance Tool replacement policy (non-warranted tools replaced after 1 year) Efficiency bonus eligibility starts day one
Hours Schedule:
Monday-Thursday 7am-5pm Friday 7am-3:30pm
Overtime:
Approximately 4 hours per week (paid after 40 hours)
Environment:
Single-shift, shop-based work only (no field service)
Shop Setup:
3-bay facility with lifts and diagnostic tooling well-organized and clean #MHR
