Our operations rely on a well-maintained fleet of trucks, paving equipment, milling machines, and heavy construction machinery. We prioritize safety, reliability, and minimizing downtime across all operations. Job Summary Asphalt Services, Inc. is seeking an experienced Diesel, Fleet & Equipment Mechanic to maintain, diagnose, and repair our fleet of diesel trucks, trailers, and heavy construction equipment. This role is critical to keeping our field operations running efficiently and safely. Ideal candidates are mechanically skilled, self-motivated, and experienced with construction and paving equipment. Key Responsibilities Diagnose, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on diesel trucks and fleet vehicles Service and repair heavy construction equipment including pavers, rollers, milling machines, excavators, loaders, skid steers, and compactors Perform engine, hydraulic, electrical, brake, and drivetrain repairs Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance to reduce downtime Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues efficiently and safely Maintain accurate service and maintenance records Coordinate with operations and field supervisors regarding equipment readiness Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop and service area Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations Qualifications & Requirements Previous experience as a diesel and heavy equipment mechanic required Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and heavy equipment Experience with construction, paving, or excavation equipment preferred Ability to work independently and manage multiple repair priorities Ability to lift heavy components and perform physically demanding tasks Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills Valid driver's license required CDL preferred but not required Welding and fabrication experience a plus Compensation & Benefits Competitive hourly pay or salary based on experience Signing bonus available depending on experience Overtime opportunities Opportunity for advancement Performance-based incentives Steady, year-round employment Work Environment Equipment shop and field service work as needed Fast-paced environment supporting active construction crews Strong emphasis on safety, efficiency, and preventative maintenance
Pay:
$30.00 - $40.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 - 50.0 per week
