Job Description

About the Role As a Field Service Technician for vocational and utility equipment, you will play a critical role in maintaining the operational readiness of heavy-duty fleets. You will leverage your expertise in diesel engine diagnostics and hydraulic systems to ensure that essential machinery remains safe and productive in the field. Responsibilities Diagnose, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on a diverse range of vocational trucks, including aerial devices, digger derricks, and cranes. Execute complex repairs on diesel engines, hydraulic circuits, and electrical systems to minimize equipment downtime. Document all service activities, parts usage, and labor hours accurately to ensure transparent reporting and efficient fleet management. Collaborate with supervisors to verify repair quality and adhere to strict safety protocols during all field operations. Conduct thorough inspections of truck-mounted equipment to ensure compliance with industry standards and operational safety requirements. Troubleshoot mechanical and electronic issues across various manufacturer platforms to restore equipment to factory specifications. Qualifications Required Skills High school diploma or equivalent. Proven experience working as a mechanic on diesel engines, heavy trucks, or construction equipment. Possession of a valid driver's license and a personal set of professional-grade tools. Strong mechanical aptitude with a focus on hydraulic and electrical systems. Basic computer proficiency for logging service records and diagnostic data. Preferred Skills Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex electrical schematics and hydraulic blueprints. Experience with specialized diagnostic software such as DTNA or Quick Serve. Knowledge of DOT, ANSI, and dielectric testing standards for utility equipment. Prior experience with welding or fabrication in a shop or field environment.
