Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Description One 1st shift opening 6a-4:30p (open to a 4 or 5 day work week) for a heavy duty equipment mechanic, this is a top priority in hiring for them! These people will be responsible for servicing and maintaining their fleet of equipment & vehicles

• vans, trucks, fleet of cars, gold carts, forklifts, diesel trucks, & other light weight vehicles and shop machinery and equipment. They "really need someone who likes/loves to fix equipment, someone who is motivated"
• Work on Hyster and Doosan forklifts (5K, 10K, 15K, 20K, 30K), generators, rollback trucks, freightliners, Kenworth, Mercedes, MAC, Landoll trailers, chassis, regular trailers.
• Previous experience in regular maintenance on chassis, brakes, lights, understand airbrake system, familiar with the way hydraulic system operates, replacement of hydraulic lines, check valves.
• Needs to have previous experience in fabrication and welding experience.
• A lot of equipment is electric, so would need to be familiar with working on battery operated equipment such as forklifts, golf carts, gators, cleaning equipment.

• actively identify, correct and/or report safety hazards to prevent accidents.
• Actively identify and pursue cost reduction and efficiency/profit improvement opportunities.
• Support the

ISO 9001

Quality Management System and the Sea Box Quality Policy calling for self-inspection of your work product.

• Assist in maintenance of fork trucks, vehicles, and production equipment, including preventative maintenance.
• Repair and maintain paint pumps, rivet guns and shop equipment.
• Work collaboratively with shop personnel to maintain building and equipment items.

Additional Skills & Qualifications Skills/Qualifications:

Diesel/fork truck mechanic training. Maintenance savvy. They would need to have a full set of different types of tools required for those jobs

Education:

High School diploma or equivalent. 5+ years of gas or diesel engine maintenance experience or related fork truck or truck maintenance experience. Welding and fabrication experience preferred.
