Heavy Equipment Operator

Summary:

Primary responsibility is to operate heavy machinery that grade roads, clear snow, and move product. Additionally, working closely with other groups, maintaining machinery, and possible supervisorial responsibilities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Operate and maintain assigned equipment such as dump trucks, loaders, backhoes, etc. in the repair and maintenance of roads, parking areas, etc.; in a safe and reliable manner. Assist in the completion of manual labor tasks using hand tools, such as rakes, shovels, and spring cleanup Assist the water/sewer depts and grounds crew in repair and maintenance. Submit written documentation of work completed to include all materials, labor and equipment used. Snowplowing and sanding Village Roads, Base Parking lot and where necessary Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Competencies:

18 years of age or older with valid driver's license Must be able to operate and maintain the necessary equipment such as dump trucks, loaders, backhoes, etc. for the repair and maintenance of roads, parking areas, etc.; in a safe and reliable manner Must be able to perform the needed hand work to complete such work, using hand tools, such as rakes, shovels, etc. Minimum of 5 years experience and demonstrated proficiency in operating large equipment CDL endorsement or ability to train and acquire in next 2 years Ability to work with others Must be available for on call services, such as snow removal, sanding, etc. Team oriented

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position potentially has supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment:

This is largely an active role working both in vehicles and outdoor in manual labor roles, in and out of vehicles. Movement and work around the entire resort is essential in this position. Must be able to lift and carry 20 lbs up and down stairs.

Physical Demands :

This is a physically active role requiring several hours of sitting and working outdoors. Must be able to lift and carry 20 lbs over uneven terrain.
