Job Summary:
The Operator is responsible for efficiently and safely operating heavy equipment in various excavation, grading, and site preparation tasks. Operators will perform critical tasks such as operating equipment, ensuring its maintenance, and working independently or as part of a team to complete assigned projects. Our ideal candidate will be skilled in handling equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, haul trucks, wheel loaders, rollers, and skid steers, ensuring smooth operations and contributing to the overall success of the project.
Responsibilities:
Skilled Operator (O1): Efficiently operate equipment up to 80,000 lbs, including excavators, bulldozers, haul trucks, wheel loaders, rollers, and skid steers. Perform proper maintenance, including greasing, fueling, and cleaning of equipment. Mass earth, trenching, and grading excavation using excavators, and perform rough grading with bulldozers. Operate equipment efficiently to minimize downtime and ensure tasks are completed within expected timeframes. Understand and apply basics of GPS equipment to achieve proper grading and excavation. Professional Operator (O2): Proficiently use GPS in all equipment to excavate and grade to precise elevations. Work independently, maintaining high levels of performance without constant supervision. Perform foundation excavation using GPS equipment, ensuring proper benching, stepping, and overdig. Fine grade areas with bulldozers, ensuring precision in leveling. Operate a paver and lead associated tasks and crew.
Qualifications:
Previous experience operating heavy equipment, such as excavators, bulldozers, haul trucks, and skid steers. Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Solid understanding of GPS equipment and grading techniques. Strong focus on safety and maintenance practices. Proven ability to work independently and efficiently. Ability to lift and carry heavy materials (up to 50 lbs). Valid driver's license and ability to travel to work sites as needed.
