Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a skilled, self-directed Heavy Equipment Operator & Maintenance Manager to oversee the day-to-day management, improvement & development of multiple rural properties. This role combines habitat development, light agricultural operations, heavy equipment operating and equipment maintenance. This is a hands-on position for someone who takes pride in maintaining and improving land, operating equipment, and solving problems independently with the addition of troubleshooting and repairing equipment. The role offers a high level of autonomy and the opportunity to make a visible, lasting impact on each property. Key Responsibilities Implement and manage habitat improvement projects (duck marshes, ponds, lakes, food plots, land enhancement) Operate and maintain dozers, excavators, scrapers, tractors, skid steers and associated implements for each piece of equipment Perform routine maintenance and mechanical repairs on equipment Maintain property infrastructure including fencing, roads, and buildings Transportation of Heavy Equipment and related supplies for each project Assist with small-scale farming or land-use activities Monitor property conditions and proactively address issues Plan and execute seasonal projects tied to land and habitat development Qualifications 3+ years of experience operating farm or heavy equipment Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and perform repairs Background in agriculture, heavy equipment operating, mechanical skills Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Comfortable living and working full-time in a rural environment Valid driver's license required CDL preferred and is eligible for additional compensation Compensation & Benefits $75,000 annual compensation package Access to equipment and land resources Flexible, independent work environment Long-term opportunity with potential for expanded responsibilities Potential access to hunting & fishing privileges (in accordance with applicable laws and property guidelines) Schedule Full-time position based on responsibilities and seasonal needs This is a salaried role and not an hourly position; compensation for this position is not based on hours worked Work Environment Outdoor, physically active role in a rural farm setting Regular use of heavy equipment and tools Exposure to varying weather conditions Additional Information This is a long-term, on-site role ideal for someone seeking a stable position with independence, responsibility, and a strong connection to the land.
