Job Description

Help Desk Associate (Full Time) Benefits include/or offered: Paid time off and county benefits including healthcare medical, dental and vision, retirement pension Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund. We are seeking a customer-focused Help Desk Associate to serve as the primary point of contact for end-user IT support. Under the general supervision of the Computing Services Manager, this role delivers efficient Tier 1 technical assistance for hardware, software, network, and account-related issues. The position also provides secondary administrative and clerical support to the department. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys helping people solve technology problems while working in a professional office environment. Key Responsibilities Act as the frontline contact for all Computing Services help desk inquiries via phone, email, in-person, and remote tools. Perform basic troubleshooting and resolution of hardware, software, network connectivity, and application issues; escalate complex problems when needed. Manage user accounts and permissions using Active Directory and Entra ID (account creation, password resets, modifications, etc.). Provide in-person assistance to walk-in users and handle inquiries professionally, even in challenging situations. Answer a multi-line telephone system, greet callers, provide initial guidance, and accurately document messages and tickets. Log, track, and document all support interactions in the ticketing system. Perform general administrative and clerical duties including data entry, filing, mail handling, scheduling, correspondence, and other office tasks as assigned. Maintain accurate records to support department reporting and operations.
