Job:
This entry-level Service Desk Representative I role provides first-line technical support to employees in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The position focuses on hands-on, desk-side and remote troubleshooting to resolve basic hardware and software issues while minimizing downtime. This is a temporary contract role requiring mobility throughout the facility.
Role and Responsibilities:
Provide desk-side and remote technical support across departments and building locations Troubleshoot hardware and software issues on laptops, desktops, tablets, smartphones, and peripherals Log, update, and resolve Helpdesk tickets using ITSM or approved systems Install, configure, maintain, and image PCs, laptops, printers, scanners, and other networked devices Perform user data backups and restores following established procedures Follow asset naming, labeling, and registration standards and assist with physical inventory audits Escalate complex or unresolved issues promptly to higher-level support to minimize production downtime Deliver excellent customer service while working independently and as part of a team Perform other duties as assigned by management
Skills and Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent experience 0-1 year of IT experience; entry-level candidates with strong technical aptitude encouraged to apply Basic understanding of networking concepts Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Proficiency with Windows OS, Microsoft Office, and basic Microsoft Exchange knowledge Familiarity with security solutions such as antivirus and digital rights management tools Ability to prioritize and multitask in a high-volume support environment Strong customer service, communication, grammar, and documentation skills
