As we continue to expand our operations, w e are seeking a Helper with a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment to join our team. As a Helper at Mill Creek Lumber and Supply, you will play a crucial role in assisting with the smooth operation of our facilities and building supply business. Your primary responsibility will be to support the overall workflow by performing various tasks related to customer service, inventory management, and general maintenance.
Responsibilities:
Gathering building materials such as lumber, sheathing, roofing, drywall, doors, windows etc. Operate a forklift to receive trucks, stock and stage materials for manufacturing. (Forklift Training Available) Build Millwork material packages by hand Help customers load and unload materials from their vehicles. Receive incoming shipments, verify accuracy, and organize products. Assist with inventory counts and stock replenishment. Ensure products are labeled correctly and stored in designated areas. Collaborate with team members to ensure inventory accuracy. Sort and organize materials according to type, size, and customer orders. Assist in cutting, measuring, and preparing materials for customers or contractors. Maintain a safe working environment by following proper lifting and material handling procedures. Keep the facility and storage areas clean, organized, and free from debris. Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as sweeping, dusting, and trash disposal. Assist with the inspection and maintenance of tools and equipment. Report any safety hazards or maintenance issues to the supervisor. Work closely with other team members to ensure efficient operations. Communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors to meet customer needs. Collaborate on special projects or initiatives as assigned. Other duties as assigned.Qualifications Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a lumber yard or building supply business. Ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment (valid forklift certification is a plus). Strong physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects regularly and work on your feet for the entirety of the shift. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and organization. Work to a high level of accuracy Mathematically inclined; ability to do calculations Good communication skills Good hand coordination Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Basic computer skills for inventory tracking and order processing.Benefits:
