Full Job Description Qualifications:
Masters DegreeTexas assistant principal or other appropriate Texas certificateCertified in T-TESS Appraisal System or willing to be trainedThree years experience as a classroom teacherThorough understanding of school operationsStrong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skillsAbility to coordinate campus support operationsWorking knowledge of curriculum and instructionAbility to evaluate instructional program and teaching effectivenessAbility to coordinate campus functionsAbility to implement policy and proceduresAbility to interpret dataStrong organizational, communication, public relations, and interpersonal skillsUses standard office equipment such as personal computers, printer, copy and fax machines, and telephoneTravels to school district buildings and professional meetings as requiredMaintain emotional control under stress Responsibilities Assist the school principal in overall administration of instructional program and campus level operationsCoordinate assigned student activities and servicesParticipate in development and evaluation of educational programEncourage and support development and evaluation of instructional programs, helping teachers pilot such efforts when appropriatePromote the use of technology in the teaching/learning process?

Promote a positive, caring climate for learningDeal sensitively and fairly with persons from diverse cultural backgroundsCommunicate effectively with students and staffParticipate in development of campus improvement plans with staff, parents, and community membersHelp principal develop, maintain, and use information systems to track progress on campus performance objectives and academic excellence indicatorsObserve employee performance, record observations, and conduct evaluation conferencesServe as second appraiser for the designated teacher appraisal systemAssist Principal in interviewing, selecting, and orienting new staff
Administration and Fiscal/Facilities Management:
Supervise operations in principal's absenceHelp plan daily school activities by participating in the development of class schedules, teacher assignments, and extracurricular activity schedulesSupervise reporting and monitoring of student attendance and work with attendance clerk on follow-up investigationsWork with department heads and faculty to compile annual budget requests based on documented program needsRequisition supplies, textbooks, and equipment; check inventory; maintain records; and verify receipts for materialsAssist with safety inspections and safety-drill practice activitiesCoordinate transportation, custodial, cafeteria, and other support servicesComply with federal and state laws, State Board of Education rule, and board policyEnsure that students are adequately supervised during non-instructional periodsHelp develop a student discipline management system that results in positive student behaviorEnsure that school rules are uniformly observed and that student discipline is appropriate and equitableConduct conferences on student and school issues with parents, students, and teachers Social Security Benefits WRCCISD is one of only a few public school districts in Texas to provide Social Security coverage for all employees.
