Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking an energetic and dedicated High School Math / ACT-SAT Math Tutor to inspire students and help them achieve their academic goals. In this role, you will deliver engaging, personalized instruction in high school mathematics and standardized test (ACT and/or SAT) preparation, fostering a positive learning environment to encourage growth and confidence . Your expertise will empower students to excel in their coursework and perform at their best on critical exams like the ACT and SAT. This paid position offers scheduling flexibility and an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students' futures while developing your teaching skills. Our tutors are not required to prepare lesson plans, but they are expected to take a structured approach: helping students through current assignments/Units in their Math subjects and/or following the program of our in-house Math curriculum and Khan Academy's SAT Math prep. Responsibilities Deliver clear, engaging lessons in high school math topics, including algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and calculus, tailored to individual student needs. Prepare students for standardized tests such as the ACT and SAT by developing effective lesson plans and practice exercises. Utilize learning technology and digital resources to enhance lesson delivery and student understanding. Assess student progress regularly through session reports for parents/guardians, providing lesson summaries, homework assignments/results, and constructive feedback for areas of improvement. Adapt and adjusting teaching strategies to work effectively with each student by encouraging questions, active participation, and confidence-building. Qualifications Proven experience tutoring or teaching high school math or standardized test preparation or expertise in relevant subject areas. Strong knowledge of math concepts across various high school levels and familiarity with ACT/SAT test formats. Excellent social skills to engage with students through willingness to clearly explain complex concepts. Familiarity with learning technology tools used in educational settings, especially the Desmos calculator.
