High School Principal Position in the Quitman County School System (Georgetown, GA) Are you an experienced secondary educational leader ready to make a profound impact on the lives of high school students? Quitman County School District is seeking a dynamic, visionary individual to join our team as High School Principal. In this role you will shape the academic, social, and career-readiness experience for grades 9-12 and inspire excellence among students and staff. Quitman County is a forward-thinking district committed to a nurturing, supportive, and inclusive learning environment. With an emphasis on academic achievement, college and career readiness, and student success, we empower every student to reach their fullest potential. Key Responsibilities:
Provide instructional leadership focused on high school graduation outcomes. Oversee academic programs including course sequencing, dual enrollment, electives, and career/technical pathways. Foster a positive, inclusive school culture that supports social-emotional growth, student engagement, and responsible behavior. Supervise, mentor, and evaluate secondary teachers and staff; support professional growth aligned to high school outcomes. Use data-driven practices to monitor student progress, improve instruction, reduce achievement gaps, and increase graduation and postsecondary readiness rates. Develop and implement programs for college and career counseling, internships, and work-based learning. Build strong relationships with students, families, community partners, and district leadership to expand opportunities and supports. Maintain a safe, orderly learning environment and ensure compliance with district, state, and federal policies.
Qualifications:
Master's degree in Education or related field (Educational Specialist preferred). Valid Georgia Educator Certification in Educational Leadership. Experience as a school administrator, with demonstrated experience at the secondary/high school level preferred. Proven success in instructional leadership, curriculum development, staff supervision, and improving secondary student outcomes. Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in secondary education. Demonstrated ability to lead, inspire, and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
