Job Description

Position Overview The Purchasing Assistant keeps track of production, ingredients, finished products, packaging, and other means of production in preparation for monthly and annual audits. Key Responsibilities The Purchasing Assistant shall be responsible for, but not limited to, the following: Conduct end of month counts of ingredients and packaging. Enter daily intercompany transfers as well as inbound receipts of ingredients and packaging into AS400. Recognize inconsistencies, check their own work, identify any anomalies, and communicate with the proper personnel to resolve them. Closing out monthly reports in support of financials. Document retention and retrieval for audits. Required Qualifications Maintain reliable attendance and consistent work hours. Must be willing to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and varying shifts.
Minimum age:
18 Must be able to pass a drug screen and physical.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Basic computer skills with experience using Microsoft Word and Excel. Experience with a ten-key calculator. Ability to work well with numbers. Possess the ability to work without direct supervision.
Required Soft Skills:
Basic math and reading skills. Previous experience with data entry. Ability to work well with numbers. Ability to have good phone etiquette. Competency Must be able to read and write English and perform basic math calculations. Effective time management skills to achieve results through prioritizing demands. Demonstrates critical thinking skills and effective decision-making skills. Strong attention-to-detail and organizational skills. Must demonstrate proficiency in essential tasks and a willingness to learn. Working Conditions (S)he will be required to sit and stand for long periods of time. Will be required to lift and move large amounts of paperwork (boxes of files). Will be required to stoop, bend, and reach above the head and below the knees to file and retrieve data. Today, its offerings include milk, ice cream, yogurt, sour cream, dips, cheese, juice, and iced tea. Still farmer-owned , Hiland emphasizes freshness by sourcing milk from nearby farms. The company also invests in sustainability initiatives and community engagement, remaining rooted in its founding values of quality, integrity, and local commitment.
