Job Description

Newcomer Supply is a medical supply company based in Waunakee, WI. We manufacture and distribute products for histology and anatomic pathology laboratories throughout the country. Newcomer Supply is looking for our next full-time Histology Technician to be a part of a dedicated team of talented, detail-oriented, laboratory technicians. This is a great opportunity for both recent graduates and experienced technicians. This position requires a candidate with a proven work history that demonstrates a high level of detail awareness, work task efficiency, accuracy, and reliability. We are a fun and hard-working team. This position is responsible for accurately sectioning and staining control slides in a production histology laboratory.
Job Type:
  • Full Time, 40 hours weekly, Monday through Friday, day shift.
Responsibilities:
  • Microtomy, cutting tissue sections to laboratory quality and efficiency standards.
  • Embedding tissue in paraffin blocks.
  • Coverslipping.
  • Manual special staining.
  • Maintaining documents and slide organization.
  • Follow established procedures.

  • High level data accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Demonstratable skills for identifying errors and managing quality issues as they occur.
  • Able to easily troubleshoot technical concerns as they arise.

  • Excels in pressure situations and meets deadlines.
  • Strives for individual and team excellence.
  • Can easily do basic laboratory math.
  • Ability to work well with others in a shared laboratory environment.
Education -
Experience:
  • Associate degree from an accredited college or university preferred, not required.
  • One year of laboratory experience is preferred, not required.
Physical Requirements:
  • Work will require sitting for much of the day alternating with occasional standing tasks. Requires manual dexterity enough to manipulate and inspect product.
  • Excellent handwriting.
