Job Description

Category Laboratory - Histology Job Type Contract Advance your career in a crucial laboratory setting providing high-quality histology services. Seeking a professional with expertise in histology to join a dedicated laboratory team on a contract basis. Play a pivotal role in tissue sample preparation, staining, and analysis that supports clinical diagnoses and optimal patient care.
Key Qualifications:
Proven experience as a histologist or within a similar laboratory role Proficiency with microtomy, embedding, sectioning, and staining techniques Familiarity with laboratory safety standards and quality control procedures Ability to handle and process biological specimens with precision Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment Certification as a Histotechnician (HT) or Histotechnologist (HTL) preferred
Primary Responsibilities:
Prepare, process, and stain tissue specimens for microscopic examination and diagnosis Operate laboratory equipment including microtomes, embedding centers, and staining instruments Maintain accurate logs, reports, and specimen records in compliance with laboratory protocols Conduct quality assurance procedures to ensure accuracy and integrity of laboratory results Adhere to established laboratory safety guidelines and participate in routine equipment maintenance Collaborate with laboratory personnel and pathologists to ensure timely and accurate workflow Identify and report any procedural discrepancies or equipment malfunctions
