As a Hog Barn Supervisor, you'll play a vital leadership role in overseeing the smooth and efficient movement of livestock from receiving to production, ensuring animal welfare and operational flow. You'll lead, train, and support a dedicated team of administrative and production staff, helping them meet production goals while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and cost-efficiency. This position also offers the opportunity to manage facility operations and ensure compliance with company and governmental regulations—making a real impact in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where your leadership truly matters.WHAT YOU'LL DO

They are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties, and skills required of personnel so classified. May perform other duties as assigned.Livestock Handling and Compliance:
Receives, identifies (tattoos), scales, moves, and accurately counts livestock. Helps manage livestock rest times to meet recommended requirements. Maintains and monitors compliance with FSIS regulations.Animal Welfare and Yard Monitoring:
Monitors yard and truck conditions to ensure adherence to corporate and governmental standards. Oversees animal welfare practices and takes corrective action when necessary.Operational Coordination:
Acts as a liaison between procurement and plant operations. Maintains status updates on all incoming livestock loads.Facility Maintenance and Planning:
Completes daily water checks and schedules facility maintenance. Ensures preventative maintenance on equipment (e.g., bobcat) is completed and manages inventory of barn supplies.Training and Performance Management:
Trains employees on industry best practices and emphasizes daily adherence. Conducts daily walkthroughs of the barn/facility to monitor activity and address employee concerns.Leadership and Professional Development:
Maintains a leadership style focused on training, support, and promoting the professional growth of team members. Manages employee schedules and sets annual goals. Conducts annual performance reviews and evaluations. Hosts regularly scheduled line meetings to communicate company policies, answer questions, and gather feedback.WHAT WE'RE SEEKING
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university and 2+ years relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Experience acting as a lead by providing training, coaching or mentoring to less experienced staff or through managing a process or project. Producer Quality Assurance/Truckers Quality Assurance certification. USDA Bonded. Captive bolt trained to euthanize downed pigs. Bobcat Safety Training Certificate. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.OTHER SKILLS THAT MAKE YOU STAND OUT
Knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Strong math skills. Stong communication skills Ability to make independent decisions. Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment.
