Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Homemaker/Companion to provide essential support and companionship to a client in their home in East Haddam. This role is vital in enhancing the quality of life for clients by assisting with daily activities, ensuring safety, and offering emotional support. The ideal candidate will be energetic, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering personalized care that promotes independence and well-being. The current schedule available is Saturdays and Sundays 8am- 6pm. Duties Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using tools like Hoyer lifts when necessary Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and assist with meal planning and cooking Conduct patient observation to monitor health status, vital signs, and overall well-being, maintaining detailed documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations Perform light housekeeping tasks including cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe environment for residents or clients Support clients with medication reminders and adherence under supervision or as outlined in care plans Engage clients through meaningful conversation, recreational activities, and social interaction to promote mental health and emotional stability Follow established care plans and coordinate with healthcare professionals for ongoing patient care or hospice needs Qualifications Knowledge of patient care techniques including assisting with ADLs Certifications such as First Aid, CPR, HIPAA compliance training are highly desirable Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, Alzheimer's disease, dementia, autism spectrum disorder or other memory-related conditions is a plus Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when required for mobility assistance or transfers using equipment like Hoyer lifts Strong observational skills to recognize changes in health status or behavior requiring intervention Compassionate attitude combined with excellent communication skills to build trusting relationships with clients and their families Join us in delivering heartfelt care that transforms lives!
