//fireandsafety.com/career-opportunities/ Hood Cleaning Supervisor The hood cleaning supervisor for Fire & Safety will supervise the hood cleaning crews,, ensuring excellent customer service, maintain strong relationships with customers, and seek out new customers. The supervisor is accountable for the hood cleaning department and will report to the service manager and work closely with the hood schedular. Requirements Perfect to near perfect driving record to include NO history of DUI's or reckless driving. Must be a hard worker and be comfortable on ladders/roofs. The ideal candidate will have experience in the restaurant industry, or a service industry. Management or supervisory experience required. Hours The supervisor's hours will vary depending on the jobs scheduled to ensure that he/she is available to crews that are on shift. Cleanings are scheduled when restaurants are closed, Sunday through Thursday. Job Duties
  • Management of hood cleaning crews, overseeing logistics, reviewing schedule, equipment, and training of new employees in the hood cleaning department.
  • Filling in to clean if a technician is unavailable (sick, vacation, etc.) or if there is a larger job needing additional help.
  • Solving issues that may arise with crews onsite, being available to step in if needed. Attention given to ensuring ability to clean and decrease cancellations.
  • Quality control of cleanings, following up occasionally with customers.
  • Visiting and quoting new customers.
  • Equipment and parts including pressure washers should be serviced, and in working condition. Equipment and parts are monitored during inclement and winter weather. Responsible for ensuring heaters are used properly.
  • Ensure trucks are inventoried weekly. Ensure that all trucks have necessary consumables and parts to include filters, globes, grease gutters, etc.
  • Ordering additional inventory parts needed for crews to have on hand.
  • Ensuring that technicians/new employees are properly trained.
  • Handling customer complaints if they arise in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that paperwork and pictures are properly recorded by crews on each cleaning (communicate regularly with hood schedular in office).
  • Ensure that crews follow all safety procedures. Examples include wearing appropriate PPE when handling chemicals, receiving training in fall protection and following safety protocols when using ladders.
  • Watching ahead for inclement weather, determine ability to complete job or secondary plan.
  • Monitor hood schedule (daily) on outlook calendar, report any discrepancies to hood schedular to include jobs that are needing follow-up, rescheduled, etc.
  • Identify problems that cost the department income, suggest solutions. Example, not cleaning a job because of no roof access. Time will consist primarily of soliciting for new customers, training new hires, and quality control, while also maintaining equipment and helping clean as needed. Shop time servicing extinguishers will be scheduled as needed. No work from home. Take home vehicle included
