Job Description Overview Lead. Mentor. Heal. Join Auburn Gymnastics and make an immediate impact on the health and performance of our student‑athletes. The individual in this position will provide preventive and rehabilitative health care for student‑athletes. Responsibilities Assists with the day-to-day operations of the athletic training room. Works directly alongside another full-time athletic training staff member and a dedicated certified intern in providing first aid and rehabilitative care for student-athletes, including injury assessment, treatment, and referral to appropriate physicians. Assists with practices including preparing athletes for practices, workouts, and games. Assists with the rehabilitation protocol of injured athletes as prescribed by the team physician and instructs the athlete in proper rehabilitation. Assists with the compilation, input, organization, and maintenance of all student athlete medical records. Performs administrative functions related to providing health care for student athletes as needed. Effectively communicates and collaborates with the Chief Medical Officer, team physicians, athletic trainers, physical therapists, registered dietitians, mental health professionals, strength and conditioning staff, other medical specialists, and coaches to optimize student-athlete health, performance, and recovery outcomes. Evaluates student-athletes for medical readiness and participates in return-to-play and participation clearance decisions in conjunction with the Chief Medical Officer. Develops, implements, and continuously evaluates protocols and procedures related to student-athlete health, safety, and risk management. Ensures compliance with all applicable NCAA, SEC, institutional, and sports medicine policies, procedures, and regulations. Qualifications Degree in Athletic Training, Exercise Science (with an emphasis in athletic training), or related which leads to athletic training certification Level I Bachelor's degree Level II Bachelor's degree plus 2 years of experience OR Master's degree Level III Bachelor's degree plus 4 years of experience OR Master's degree plus 2 years of experience Senior Athletic Trainer Bachelor's degree plus 10 years of experience OR Master's degree plus 8 years of experience
Licenses & Certifications :
Performance Enhancement Specialist Certification from the National Academy of Sports Medicine Corrective Exercise Specialist Certification from the National Academy of Sports Medicine Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist Certification from the National Strength and Conditioning Association Active Release Technique Certification Graston Technique Certification Myofascial Release Certification Knieso Taping Certification by Knieso Taping Association International Scope of Experience:
Experience in preventing, assessing and treating athletic injuries Certification or Licensure Requirements:
