Property Description:
Shoreline Golf Links is an 18-hole, championship-length Robert Trent Jones Jr. designed golf course situated in the heart of Silicon Valley. Featuring a 30+ stall grass driving range and extensive short-game practice facilities, the property has many upcoming capital improvements. This is an extraordinary opportunity for an ambitious, entrepreneurial Head Golf Professional to help shape the brand, collaborate with a dynamic management team, and build great golf programs from the ground up.
Position Summary:
The Head Golf Professional is a high-energy, collaborative leader who will partner with management and fellow golf professionals to drive the property's strategic growth. This role demands a leader who is deeply passionate about team-building, delivering exceptional guest experiences, and growing the game. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Program & Brand Architecture:
Partner closely with management and the professional staff to co-create, implement, and market an elevated suite of golf programs, tournaments, and events.
Team Leadership & Culture:
Recruit, train, mentor, and inspire the golf shop, outside services, and player assistant teams. Foster a culture of accountability, high energy, and exceptional hospitality.
Guest Experience Management:
Maintain a visible, engaging presence. Monitor guest service touchpoints, track pace of play, and implement innovative solutions to exceed player expectations.
Retail & Merchandise Operations:
Help oversee golf shop merchandising, including curated ordering, visual displays, monthly inventory management, and promotional strategies to maximize retail revenue and turnover.
Operational Compliance:
Implement and enforce company operating procedures, human resource policies, and safety standards across all golf operations.
Industry Leadership:
Maintain active engagement with the PGA and relevant trade organizations to integrate modern industry trends, technology, and best practices into the operation.
Qualifications:
PGA Class A Member in good standing (preferred). Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) preferred. Minimum of 5 years of golf instruction and operations management experience, with a proven track record in junior program development.
Tech-Savvy Leader:
High proficiency with modern club management software, POS systems, tournament software (e.g., Golf Genius), and Microsoft Office/Google Workspace.
Marketing Aptitude:
Experience or strong familiarity with creating digital marketing collateral, driving social media engagement, and web-based promotions preferred. Superior written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; a natural networker who connects easily with corporate clients, juniors, and casual golfers alike. Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems under pressure, manage multi-faceted operations, and maintain a highly professional appearance and demeanor at all times. Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays based on seasonal and event demands.
