Full-Time, Salaried Non-Exempt LOCATION- Denver, CO 80218 About the club: Established in 1887, Denver Country Club is recognized as the first club west of the Mississippi and one of the most prestigious private clubs in the country. The 585 member, by invitation only private club, hosts an 18 hole golf course, two indoor golf simulators (Foresight Quads), indoor and outdoor tennis, platform tennis, pickleball, ice hockey, lawn bowling, croquet, casual and fine dining. The club has a long history of golf championships including the Denver Open (PGA Tour Event 1962-1964), Trans-Mississippi Amateur (upcoming 2022) , Pacific Coast Amateur and Curtis Cup (1984). A Golf Course renovation was completed in 2020 - Gil Hanse. The renovation has helped to secure Denver Country Club as one of the premier golf courses in the Western United States. The Golf Shop is consistently recognized as an AGM Platinum Award Winning Golf Shop (Top 100) and has been recognized as a multiple winner of the Colorado Section PGA Merchandiser of the Year - Private Category.

The department currently includes a Director of Racquet Sports, Head Racquet Sports Professional, and Junior Tennis Director, creating a collaborative environment focused on delivering exceptional member programming.
Target Start Date:
May 15, 2026 (or sooner) This position offers the opportunity to be involved in all aspects of the racquets program while helping create energy and growth within key areas of the club. The successful candidate will take a leadership role in developing and expanding the pickleball program while also playing a significant role in the junior and women's tennis programs. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional looking to grow within a premier private club environment while taking ownership of key program areas and continuing to develop as a racquets professional. The position includes a balance of on-court instruction and program administration. Applicants should expect approximately 30-35 hours per week on court through lessons, clinics, programming, and events, along with 8-10 hours of weekly administrative responsibilities supporting racquets operations.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
This is a competitively compensated position that includes a base salary ($15,000) plus a strong commission structure for lessons, clinics, and programming ($85-$95 lesson rates, 70%-75% commissions). RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead the development and growth of the club's pickleball programming Assist with and support junior tennis development programs Play a key role in the women's tennis program, including clinics, leagues, and events Provide private and group instruction for members of all ages and skill levels Assist with racquets events, tournaments, and member programming Support daily racquets operations including scheduling, communications, and program administration Contribute to a positive and engaging racquets culture for members and staff
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience coaching tennis and pickleball required Platform tennis experience preferred, or willingness to learn, play, and teach the sport Strong communication and member-service skills Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment Organized, self-motivated, and enthusiastic about growing racquets programming RSPA certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Essential Physical Requirements The physical demands described here represent the essential functions of the role. Movement & Activity Ability to stand, walk, and move continuously for extended periods during lessons and clinics. Ability to demonstrate tennis and pickleball techniques, including swinging a racquet/paddle, footwork patterns, and basic strokes. Ability to run, jog, or move quickly for short distances to feed balls or participate in drills. Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and twist as needed for ball pickup, equipment setup, and court maintenance tasks. Lifting & Carrying Ability to lift, carry, and transport teaching equipment such as ball baskets, ball machines, nets, and teaching aids (typically up to 25-50 pounds). Ability to push or pull ball carts or teaching equipment across the court. Hand & Arm Use Ability to grip, hold, and swing a racquet or paddle repeatedly. Ability to feed balls consistently using hand‑feeding or racquet‑feeding techniques. Sensory Requirements Sufficient visual acuity to track balls, observe student technique, and ensure safety on the court. Sufficient hearing ability to communicate clearly with students in an outdoor or indoor court environment. Environmental Conditions Ability to work in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, wind, and sun exposure (for outdoor facilities). Ability to tolerate moderate to high levels of physical exertion in an active sports environment .
