Job Description

Overview Sara Bay Country Club is a small, private golf only club in Sarasota. We have 375 golfing members and play 27,000 rounds of golf per year. This is an exceptional opportunity to learn all facets of the golf business while working to earn your PGA membership. Ensures that members and guest receive exceptional service with all their golfing needs including but not limited to merchandise, tournaments, check-in, club-fitting, instruction, cart & club rental and other day-to-day operations. Assists with the coordination of daily member golf groups, tournaments, clinics, and other golf events. Work with the Head Golf Professional executing the golf programming in both event and instructional settings. Experience Required High knowledge of the history of the game, golf etiquette, handicapping, rules, tournaments, and teaching are a must for this position. Knowledge of tournament preparations and procedures, experience with Golf Genius is a plus. Requires excellent communication skills and time management skills. Requires strong knowledge of
USGA & PGA
programs and eligibility to participate in the PGA Golf Professional Training Program. Requires good golfing ability and the desire to play golf with club members. Ability to analyze data and prepare reports. Plan, organize, direct and coordinate all golf club equipment repairs. Ability to assist in golf shop merchandise sales. Essential Responsibilities Manage and coordinate daily golf operations including all practice facilities and golf cart operations. Opening and closing of the Golf shop. Must have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a fast pace environment at times. Must maintain positive and helpful attitude. Assist with receiving products, merchandising, inventory management and golf shop sales. Ability to learn features and benefits of merchandise and equipment in order to assist our members and guests with their equipment and apparel needs. Assist the Head Golf Professional and First Assistant Golf Professional in maintaining tee times, coordinating daily play and other programs and events including teaching individual and group lessons. Assist in the set up, organization and conducting club tournaments for the entire golf membership. Assist the Head Golf Professional in the coordination and implementation of our seasonal caddie program. Ensure that members and guests have an enjoyable experience while on the golf course or using the practice facilities. Manage staff responsibilities including and updating daily checklists and scheduling of outside operations staff. Investigates and resolves complaints of membership. Management of the member handicap program. Responsible for maintaining tee times and pace of play. Communicates with members, guests, co-workers, and management in a courteous and professional manner. Conforms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions. Performs other duties as assigned by the Head Golf Professional or General Manager.
