This role is ideal for someone passionate about developing male gymnasts and committed to building strength, discipline, and confidence in a structured team environment. If you have experience coaching and a strong understanding of boys gymnastics events, we would love to meet you. Responsibilities Pre-team development Recruit, evaluate, and place boys into appropriate pre-team training groups based on age, physical readiness, and skill level Design and implement a structured pre-team curriculum covering foundational gymnastics shapes, body positions, and movement patterns Build progressive skill tracks Develop strength, flexibility, and coordination through age-appropriate conditioning exercises Establish a positive and disciplined gym culture from day one — teaching focus, respect, and work ethic to young athletes Track each athlete's developmental milestones and communicate progress regularly with parents Identify athletes ready to advance from pre-team to competitive team and facilitate smooth transitions Competitive team coaching Develop and implement structured training plans focused on skill progression, strength development, and safety across all competitive levels Provide technical instruction on all men's artistic events — Floor, Pommel Horse, Rings, Vault, Parallel Bars, and High Bar Create individualized routines and determine start values in alignment with USAG Code of Points Spot athletes safely and confidently during skill development and new release elements Prepare athletes mentally and physically for competition Manage meet-day logistics including warm-up scheduling, rotation assignments, and athlete check-in Analyze competition results to identify strengths, address deductions, and refine training priorities Program & facility Foster a positive, disciplined, and team-oriented culture across all program levels Monitor athlete progress and communicate effectively with athletes, parents, and staff Ensure all equipment is properly set up, inspected, and maintained for safe training Qualifications & skills Previous experience coaching boys gymnastics Strong knowledge of men's artistic gymnastics events, progressions, and USAG Junior Olympic program structure Ability to motivate, mentor, and build confidence in male athletes at all levels Commitment to athlete safety and proper technique Strong communication and leadership skills Reliable, professional, and team-oriented USAG membership and background screening required (or willingness to obtain)
Pay:
$25.00 - $32.00 per hour
